As Co-Founder and Business Principal, Corey Baim is the backbone of IE. He wears many hats – assisting in creative development, helping out with print buying and vendor selection and supporting business development in sales and kick-off meetings. But Corey’s core function is to keep IE running smoothly by overseeing IE’s staff, putting together estimates and proposals as well as managing the books.
Before IE, Corey began his career in mortgage banking where he spent several years handling multi-million dollar accounts for First Franklin Financial Corporation. Ultimately, he rose to an Account Supervisor and managed a staff with an average monthly portfolio of $70 million. But as with his wife Marcie, Corey also longs for a creative outlet and more adventure. So when the opportunity presented itself, he left mortgage banking to play bass guitar with a successful local band. They toured America and Europe nine times, recorded three albums and played with talents like Green Day, Sublime and Blink 182. You can still find some of his albums today in major music retailers, including Apple’s itunes.
When the music subsided, Corey and Marcie joined forces to start IE. He has been instrumental in guiding the company from its humble beginnings to the reputable and award-winning firm it is today. Corey graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in pre-law.
